In view of the upcoming 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal, Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) Punjab Police have been carrying out search, sweep and combing operations across the province including Lahore. In continuation of this, during the last 24 hours, 507 combing operations were conducted, more than 17,209 suspects were checked, while 57 suspicious persons were taken into custody. Punjab Police spokesperson said that during 27 search and sweep operations, more than 3,140 individuals were questioned and 2 suspicious persons were taken into custody. Moreover, 148 proclaimed offenders involved in serious crimes, 48 court absconders, and 22 habitual criminals were also arrested. A large quantity of illegal weapons and ammunition was recovered from the possession of criminal and suspicious elements. During actions against criminals, 4 offenders were neutralized, 12 injured, and 13 were arrested. IG Punjab directed that search, sweep and combing operations should be continued to hold anti-state and criminal elements accountable.
