Punjab Police are actively engaged in public service delivery and ensuring implementation of traffic laws, under which during the last 24 hours, 23,779 individuals were issued driving licenses. Punjab Police spokesperson said that 37,236 challans were issued for traffic law violations and fines amounting to 21 million rupees were imposed. Challans were issued to 343 smoke-emitting vehicles, while 29 were impounded in police stations. Inspector General of Punjab Police directed the officers to continue operations against violators of traffic laws. He instructed to accelerate the crackdown against overloading, over speeding, underage drivers, and one-way violations. Dr. Usman Anwar said that training is also being provided to citizens in 127 driving training schools of Punjab Police. He further directed that effective measures should be taken to recover fines from defaulters of traffic challans.
