IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar Instructed to Enhance Security Across the Province, for Jumma-tul-Mubarak.
Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, has directed to enhance security across the province, including Lahore, and emphasized the need to ensure the security of mosques, imam bargahs, shrines, and other important locations. He emphasized that the mosque play a vital role in the moral reform of society and in the provision of peace and justice. IG Punjab has instructed DPOs and senior police officers to visit local mosques on Jumma-tul-Mubarak and engage with citizens after the Friday prayers. Police officers are expected to listen to the concerns and issues of the public in the mosques. Dr. Usman Anwar further said that in accordance with the spirit and teachings of Islam, mosques are being transformed into community centers for engagement. The role of mosques in the moral development, welfare, and progress of society is indispensable. IG Punjab emphasized that senior officers should use mosques as platforms to listen to the problems of the public at their doorsteps and also inform them about the services and facilities provided by the police.
