Flood Situation Near Rivers in Various Districts, Including Lahore.
Punjab Police’s Non-stop Rescue and Relief Operation continue.
A large-scale rescue and relief operation is underway by Punjab Police for the protection and assistance of flood victims.
As per the instructions of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, Punjab Police’s non-stop rescue and relief operation continues in Lahore and various districts near rivers due to the ongoing flood situation. Punjab Police spokesperson said that the police force is conducting a large-scale rescue and relief operation for the protection and assistance of flood victims. Over 700 police vehicles and 40 boats are being used to transfer affected individuals to safe locations. Punjab Police has already transferred more than 74,000 affected individuals to safety, including 32,671 men, over 22,000 women, and 19,406 children. Additionally, Punjab Police has safely relocated over 50,000 livestock stranded in flood-affected areas. More than 15,000 police officers and personnel are engaged in rescue and relief activities in flood-affected districts, including Lahore. In Lahore alone, over 250 citizens have been moved to safe locations.
Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, has directed that evacuation and rescue operations in flood-hit areas should continue uninterrupted. IG Punjab also instructed that security, food, and essential supplies be ensured at relief camps for the displaced victims. Dr. Usman Anwar further emphasized the need for continuous communication with district administration, PDMA, rescue services, and other security departments, and ordered regular patrolling by the police in villages and settlements located along riverbanks.
