On the directions of Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, weekly general parades were held across the province including Lahore. Senior police officers inspected the parade while contingents presented salute. The general parade was attended by officers and personnel from Police Lines, Dolphin Force, Anti-Riot Force, Traffic Police, Mujahid Squad, SPU, Lady Police, Investigation Wing, and Operation Wing of police stations. Senior officers also checked the turnout of officers and personnel participating in the parade. The alert contingents of the participants also carried out a march past during the general parade. Female personnel also participated in the general parade.
Punjab Police spokesperson said that general parades are being regularly held every Monday across the province. District officers inspected Kot, Motor Transport Wing, Miscellaneous Stores, Uniform Depot, and other sections. IG Punjab said that the purpose of the general parade is to keep the personnel alert and to maintain discipline, unity, and a spirit of brotherhood among them. He further said that the parade is the best manifestation of discipline in any force and that the general parade will help maintain the fitness of officers and personnel. Dr. Usman Anwar said that the parade also reflects the history, heritage, and traditions of the police force.
