Punjab Police in action for elimination of metallic string and kite flying across the province

On the instructions of Inspector General of Punjab Police Dr. Usman Anwar, Punjab Police is actively engaged in eliminating metallic string and kite flying. In continuation of this crackdown, actions against violations of the Anti-Kite Flying Act are underway across the province including Lahore. Punjab Police spokesperson, while sharing details, said that this year across the province including Lahore, 4,836 accused were arrested and 4,758 cases were registered over violations of the Anti-Kite Flying Act. More than 499,000 kites and 19,301 string spools were recovered, while challans were submitted in 4,368 cases. In the provincial capital, 1,365 accused were arrested, 1,334 cases were registered, 28,928 kites and 1,510 string spools were recovered.
IGP Punjab directed that strict implementation of the Kite Flying Prohibition (Amendment) Act must be ensured. RPOs, CPOs, and DPOs should accelerate crackdowns against kite flyers, sellers, and manufacturers. He emphasized that no permission will be given for this deadly activity, and a zero-tolerance policy will be adopted against those involved in this bloody business. Elements engaged in the online trade of metallic string and kites will also be brought within the ambit of law. Dr. Usman Anwar said that parents should keep their children away from this deadly game and citizens should show responsibility by immediately reporting any instance of kite flying at any location to 15.
