Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar has extended heartfelt congratulations to the entire Pakistani nation and the police force on Independence Day. IG Punjab said that on Independence Day, Punjab Police reiterates its commitment to the protection of citizens' lives, properties, honor, and dignity. 1700 martyrs of Punjab Police in the line of duty are a symbol of undying love for the homeland. No sacrifice will be spared for the security, progress, and prosperity of the beloved land. IG Punjab said that every officer and soldier of Punjab Police will never hesitate to lay down their life for the country and the nation. Security has been put on high alert across the province, including Lahore, and the nefarious intentions of the enemy will be thwarted. Over 30,000 police officers and personnel have been deployed for security and traffic arrangements across the province. All Independence Day events are being continuously monitored through CCTV cameras. Citizens should celebrate Independence Day while upholding national dignity and decorum. There is a zero-tolerance policy against one-wheeling, aerial firing, rowdiness, and harassment of women and families.
Punjab Police celebrated Independence Day with great zeal and enthusiasm. Quran recitation and prayers for the security of the country and nation were held in the mosques of police lines and offices across the province including Lahore. Punjab Police spokesperson said that dignified flag hoisting ceremonies were held in police offices and lines on Independence Day. Families of martyrs, RPOs, CPOs, DPOs, senior officers and personnel participated in the ceremonies. Flag hoisting was carried out at police buildings, and smartly turned-out police contingents presented a salute to the national flag. IG Punjab said that Punjab Police is equally participating with the nation in the celebrations of Independence Day. Police lines, offices, police stations, and other buildings across the province, including Lahore, were illuminated with decorative lights. The buildings of Punjab Police were beautifully decorated with attractive lighting in connection with Independence Day. IG Punjab said that the bravery, courage, supreme sacrifices, and capabilities of the Pakistan Armed Forces, who protect the country and nation, are highly appreciated. From the attainment of freedom to the protection of freedom, Punjab Police has made eternal sacrifices shoulder to shoulder with the Pakistan Armed Forces.
On the occasion of Independence Day, Punjab Police released a service-based video in which various formations of Punjab Police expressed their renewed commitment to serve and protect the country and nation. CTD, Elite Force, SPU vowed to remain a concrete wall against terrorists and miscreants, and CCD personnel pledged to continue the mission of eradicating heinous crimes. Female police officers pledged to remain ever ready to protect daughters, sisters, and mothers, while Traffic Police committed to ensuring smooth traffic flow and safe travel on roads. Punjab Highway Patrol and Dolphin Squad renewed their pledge to serve the citizens. Riot Management Police personnel indicated their full capabilities to maintain law and order. The services of Punjab Police’s Khidmat o Tahaffuz Marakaz (Service and Protection Centers), Meesaq Centers, Punjab Safe Cities Authority, Virtual Women Police Stations, and Virtual Center for Child Safety were highlighted.
On the direction of IG Punjab, Punjab Police provided comprehensive security for over 480 events across the province on the occasion of Independence Day. More than 30,000 police officers and personnel were deployed for security and traffic arrangements across the province, including Lahore. The spokesperson of Punjab Police further said that more than 8,000 police officers and personnel in the provincial capital ensured security and traffic arrangements. These included 08 A+ category, 82 A category, and 392 B category programs. IG Punjab said that police personnel deployed at inter-provincial border check posts should keep a strict watch on the mischief of Khawarij and Fitna-e-Hindustan. CCPO Lahore, RPOs, CPOs, and DPOs personally oversaw the security and traffic arrangements for Independence Day. Police, Special Branch, CTD, intelligence agencies, patrolling, Dolphin Squad, PRU, and Traffic Police ensured the best arrangements. Zero-tolerance was adopted against rowdiness, one-wheeling, aerial firing, road blocking, and harassing women.
