Discussion held on human resources, infrastructure, and logistics matters of Riot Management Police across regions and districts
Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, chaired a video link meeting at the Central Police Office regarding matters of the Riot Management Police (RMP). The meeting reviewed the human resources, infrastructure, and logistics of RMP in various regions and districts. Additional IG Riot Management Police Khurram Shakoor, DIG Riot Management Police Asad Sarfraz Khan, and AIG Admin Dr. Asad Ijaz Malhi were present in the meeting, while all RPOs, DIG Operations Lahore, SPs, and DSPs of RMP participated via video link. IG Punjab said that the Riot Management Police plays a crucial role in ensuring law and order. At the regional level, RMP has been provided with the required manpower, accommodation, logistics, and modern equipment. In any law-and-order emergency, RMP will take robust action under the leadership of the respective RPOs and DPOs.
Additional IG RMP said that SPs at the regional level and DSPs in districts will supervise the Riot Management Police. IG Punjab further said that modern training for RMP is ensured to meet law-and-order challenges effectively. He added that the morale of RMP personnel is high, and they are always prepared to face any challenge. Additional IG RMP also mentioned that specialized courses are being conducted in phases to enhance the capacity and skills of RMP personnel.
