VEHARI - Vehari District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Afzal held an open court at the Complaint Cell established under his supervision here on Thursday. All DSPs and SHOs from across the district participated through an inter-district video link system. During the session, citizens presented various complaints, on which immediate action was taken. Orders were issued to the concerned police officers via video link on 32 applications to ensure prompt resolution. Speaking on the occasion, DPO Muhammad Afzal said that the purpose of the open court is to directly hear citizens’ issues and resolve them without delay, which will further strengthen public trust in the police. Double murder accused sentenced to death.
In the double murder case registered at Police Station City Mailsi (FIR No. 700/22), convict Muhammad Ajmal has been sentenced to death twice, 18 years imprisonment, and fined Rs. 1.15 million. Ajmal had opened indiscriminate fire over a marriage annulment dispute, killing Shehzad Ali and Shan Ali and injuring Saima Bibi. Due to the police’s transparent investigation, undeniable evidence, and effective prosecution by District Deputy Public Prosecutor Ramzan Malik, Additional Sessions Judge Mailsi, Muhammad Irfan Naseem Tarar, awarded the sentence.DPO Vehari Muhammad Afzal said Vehari Police is ensuring swift arrests and strict punishments in heinous crimes to deliver timely justice and strengthen citizens’ sense of security.
