Punjab Police Committed to Efficient Public Service and Strict Traffic Law Enforcement.
Over 4.87 million Driving Licenses Issued This Year, Punjab Police Spokesperson.
Punjab Police is actively engaged in effective public service delivery and ensuring the enforcement of traffic laws. In continuation of these efforts, over 4.87 million individuals have been issued driving licenses during the current year. Punjab Police spokesperson said that more than 7.3 million traffic challans have been issued, and fines exceeding Rs. 4.52 billion have been imposed for violations of traffic laws. Over 250,000 vehicles emitting smoke were challaned, 22,276 vehicles were impounded at police stations, while fitness certificates of 214 vehicles were confiscated. Inspector General of Punjab emphasized that actions against violators of traffic laws will continue. He directed to accelerate crackdowns against overloading, over speeding, underage drivers, and violations of one-way traffic rules. Dr. Usman Anwar said that training is being provided to citizens at 127 Punjab Police driving training schools. He further said that effective measures are being taken to recover fines from defaulters of traffic challans.
