Rainfall in Lahore & Various Parts of Punjab: Punjab Police Officers and Personnel Remain on High Alert
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar Directed Police Force to Fully Participate in Relief Activities
On the directions of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, police officers and personnel across the province, including Lahore, are actively performing their duties during the ongoing rains. IG Punjab has instructed the police force to take full part in relief activities and directed officers and officials to be more vigilant in rain-affected areas. Traffic wardens have been tasked with maintaining smooth traffic flow on major roads. Supervisory police officers have been instructed to personally monitor relief efforts in rain-hit regions.
Dr. Usman Anwar said that Punjab Police is in constant coordination with PDMA, district administrations, and Rescue 1122 regarding rescue and relief operations. Control rooms of Punjab Police are also gathering information on damages caused by the rains. Police personnel are assisting WASA and other relevant agencies in draining rainwater from affected roads in Lahore and other cities. Full support is being extended to concerned authorities in rescuing citizens impacted by the rain. Dr. Usman Anwar further directed that in view of the forecast for more rainfall, police officers and personnel must remain on high alert and respond immediately to any emergency situation.
