Lahore - Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr. Usman Anwar on Tuesday directed police teams to remain on high alert in view of possible flooding in several districts of the province. According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, the IGP instructed regional and district police officers to personally monitor relief and rescue operations in flood-affected areas. He emphasized the need for close coordination between the police, district administrations, and rescue agencies. Regular patrolling is being carried out by police teams in villages and settlements located near rivers, the statement said. Dr Usman added that relief camps have been established in the affected areas and that measures are in place to provide assistance and ensure the security of displaced persons. He said that protection of lives, property, and infrastructure in flood-prone areas remains a top priority.Food, medicines, and other essential supplies are being delivered to flood victims, while police control centers are monitoring the situation around the clock in coordination with relevant departments.
