Punjab Police on High Alert Amidst Potential Flood Threat in Various Districts
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar directed Police Teams to Actively Participate in Rescue Operations
Inspector General of Punjab Police, Dr. Usman Anwar, has said that Punjab Police is on high alert to safeguard lives and properties of citizens amidst potential flood threats in various districts of the province. He directed police teams to actively participate in ongoing rescue operations and instructed RPOs and DPOs to personally supervise police relief efforts in the flood-affected areas.
Punjab Police is ensuring close coordination with district administrations and rescue departments during relief operations. Police rescue teams are regularly patrolling villages and populated areas along riverbanks to monitor and respond promptly to emergencies. In flood-affected districts, steps are being taken to set up relief camps, assist affected individuals, and ensure security. Dr. Usman Anwar emphasized that the protection of citizens’ lives, property, and belongings in areas facing flood threats is of utmost importance.
Patrolling continues in high-risk zones and at riverine checkpoints. IG further said that food, medicines, and other essential supplies are being provided to flood victims. Punjab Police control centers are continuously monitoring the flood situation in the affected districts.
