Lahore - Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, remains committed to the health and welfare of his force and their families. Continuing this commitment, an additional Rs. 2.7 million rupees has been released for the medical treatment of police employees and their family members. Providing details, the spokesperson for Punjab Police said that Rs. 500,000 have been given for the treatment of the late ASI Shahid Mahmood’s widow, who is suffering from a heart problem, and Constable Muhammad Idrees, who requires surgery on his left leg. ASIs Shakeel Ahmed, Zahid Mehmood, and Traffic Warden Azmat Ali have each been granted Rs. 200,000 for medical treatment. ASI Muhammad Aslam and Constable Saeed Akbar have each received Rs. 150,000 for their medical needs. Retired Assistant Director Liaqat Ali, Inspector Muhammad Riaz, Head Constables Muhammad Ahmad, and Constables Qaiser Bashir and Gul Zaman have each been provided with Rs. 100,000 for medical expenses. Office Superintendent Abdul Hafeez, ASI Mechanic Javed Iqbal, and ASIs Muhammad Shakeel and Ijaz Ahmed have collectively been granted Rs. 300,000 for medical treatment. IG Punjab approved the disbursement of funds following scrutiny by the Medical Financial Assistance Committee. Dr. Usman Anwar said that, under MOUs with various institutions, the department is also providing top-quality medical facilities to employees.
