Police Constable Haider Ali Hussain embraced martyrdom during relief work in Jhelum, body recovered after a day. Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, paid rich tribute to the great sacrifice of Police Constable Haider Ali Hussain, who laid down his life in the line of duty while protecting the lives and property of citizens in Jhelum. Providing details, the Punjab Police spokesperson said that Constable Haider Ali Hussain, who was part of the relief efforts in flood-affected areas of Jhelum, embraced martyrdom. His body, which had gone missing after being swept away by flood current during a rescue operation the previous day, has now been recovered. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar praised the martyr’s noble sacrifice and said the entire police force stands with the family of the martyr in this moment of grief.
“We will not leave the family of the martyr alone and will ensure their welfare and support,” he said. Dr. Usman Anwar added that Punjab Police personnel are engaged in rescuing flood victims without concern for their own lives. The police are also providing temporary shelter, food, medicines, and other essentials to flood victims. He further stated that the situation in flood-affected areas is being continuously monitored through Punjab Police’s control centers. RPOs and DPOs are personally supervising police relief operations in flood-affected areas. IG Punjab instructed that police rescue teams should continue regular patrolling in riverside villages and populated areas. Relief camps, assistance to affected individuals, and security measures must be ensured in flood-hit districts. He further directed that patrolling at river check posts and in areas facing potential flood threats must continue without interruption.
