Operations underway against gangs involved in murder, kidnapping for ransom, rape, robbery, and other serious crimes – Spokesperson Punjab Police
On the instructions of Inspector General Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, Punjab Police is actively engaged in the suppression of criminal and anti-state elements across the province. In continuation of this effort, operations against gangs involved in murder, kidnapping for ransom, rape, robbery, and other serious crimes are ongoing. The spokesperson of Punjab Police, while providing details, shared that during the current year, Punjab Police has arrested 7,981 dangerous criminals from 3,280 gangs. Stolen property worth more than Rs. 2.0974 billion has been recovered from the possession of the accused. The recovered stolen items include vehicles, motorcycles, mobile phones, gold, livestock, and cash. From the possession of the criminals, 1,101 Kalashnikovs, 1,970 rifles, 22,768 pistols, 2,077 shotguns, 1,957 repeaters, 296 revolvers, and more than 175,000 bullets were also recovered. The spokesperson of Punjab Police further shared that in the provincial capital Lahore, 3,674 criminals from 1,642 gangs have been arrested. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has instructed that operations against criminal elements should continue. IG Punjab further said that under the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, operations against dangerous criminals will continue in order to make Punjab a crime-free province.
