Inspector General Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar has directed that police relief efforts in flood-affected areas be further intensified. IG Punjab said that police teams are actively participating in rescue and relief operations, including the relocation of citizens to safer locations. The flood situation in the affected districts is being continuously monitored through Punjab Police control centers. Regional Police Officers (RPOs) and District Police Officers (DPOs) are personally supervising police relief activities in the flood-affected areas. Police force is ensuring close coordination with district administrations and rescue organizations in the ongoing relief efforts. Dr. Usman Anwar instructed officers to ensure regular patrolling by police relief teams in villages and populated areas situated along riverbanks. In flood-affected districts, steps must be taken to ensure the establishment of relief camps, provision of assistance to affected individuals, and maintenance of security. The protection of lives, properties and belongings of citizens at risk from floods will be ensured at all costs. Patrolling at riverine checkpoints and in areas vulnerable to potential flooding should continue without interruption.
