Supervisory Police Officers Should Personally Monitor Relief Operations in Rain-Affected Areas, IG Punjab

On the instructions of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, police officers and personnel across the province, including Lahore, are performing their duties on high alert during the ongoing rains. IG Punjab has directed the police force to actively take part in relief efforts, emphasizing that police officers and personnel should perform their duties with increased vigilance in rain-affected areas. Traffic wardens should play their role in maintaining smooth flow of traffic on the roads. Supervisory police officers should personally monitor relief operations in rain-hit areas. IG Punjab said that Punjab Police is in constant coordination with PDMA, district administration, and rescue agencies regarding rescue and relief operations. Details of damages caused by the rains are also being collected through Punjab Police control rooms. Police officers and personnel are assisting WASA and other departments in drainage of rainwater from affected roads in Lahore and other areas. Full support is being extended to the concerned departments in rescuing citizens affected by the rain. Dr. Usman Anwar has instructed all supervisory officers that, in view of the possibility of further rainfall, police officers and personnel must remain on high alert and respond immediately to any emergency situation.
