LAHORE - Punjab Police remained on high alert and ensured foolproof security during Christian prayer services held in churches across Lahore and other districts of the province. The security arrangements were made on the instructions of Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, who directed field officers to ensure the safety and peaceful conduct of all religious gatherings. In line with these instructions, RPOs and DPOs were tasked with enhancing security measures and personally inspecting arrangements at churches and other sensitive locations. Additional police personnel and snipers were deployed at vulnerable sites, while Dolphin Squad, PRU, and Elite Force teams carried out enhanced patrolling around churches to ensure public safety. All officers and personnel on duty were instructed to remain highly vigilant, maintain strict surveillance, and monitor suspicious activity in and around worship places. Search and sweep operations were also conducted in Christian communities and other sensitive areas to ensure a peaceful environment. The IGP said that interfaith harmony is essential for a peaceful society.
