Punjab Police continues its efforts to ensure effective public service delivery and strict enforcement of traffic laws. As part of this drive, more than 4.544 million driving licenses have been issued across the province so far this year. According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, over 6.751 million traffic violation tickets have been issued, resulting in fines exceeding Rs. 4 billion. Action was taken against 245,000 smoke-emitting vehicles, 22,000 were impounded at police stations, and fitness certificates of 209 vehicles were confiscated. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar emphasized that strict action against traffic law violators will continue. He added that Punjab Police is also providing driving training to citizens through 127 driving training schools across the province. Dr. Usman Anwar further directed officers to take effective measures for the recovery of fines from defaulters of traffic challans.
