Rainfall in Various Areas of Punjab Including Lahore; Punjab Police Officers and Personnel reminded on high Alert.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar directed police force to actively participate in relief activities.
On the instructions of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, police officers and personnel have been directed to remain highly alert and actively participate in relief efforts due to rainfall in various areas of Punjab, including Lahore. He directed that police officers and officials should perform their duties with greater vigilance in the rain-affected areas, while traffic wardens must play their role in maintaining the smooth flow of traffic on roads. IG Punjab further directed that supervisory police officers should personally monitor relief operations in rain-affected areas and that Punjab Police should maintain continuous coordination with PDMA, district administration, and rescue agencies regarding rescue and relief efforts.
IG Punjab said that Punjab Police control rooms are also collecting details of the damages caused by the rain, while police officers and personnel are assisting WASA and other departments in draining rainwater from affected roads, including those in Lahore. He added that full assistance is being provided to concerned agencies in rescuing citizens affected by the rainfall. IG Punjab also directed the officers and personnel to remain extremely alert in view of the forecast for further rain and to respond immediately in case of any emergency situation.
