One person killed in Shahdara after being hit by an underage driver

IG Punjab orders crackdown against underage drivers across the province including Lahore.

Lahore  -  Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has taken notice of the incident in Shahdara where a man was killed and others were injured due to a collision caused by an underage driver. He expressed displeasure over the traffic violations. IG Punjab has ordered an intensified crackdown against underage drivers across the province, including Lahore. IG Punjab said that drivers without licenses and underage individuals who cause accidents must not be allowed on the roads under any circumstances. Violators and underage drivers should be identified with the help of Safe City cameras. Strict action should also be taken against the parents of underage drivers who cause loss of life on the roads. A zero-tolerance policy should be adopted against those violating traffic rules, including over speeding, overloading, and one-way violations. IG Punjab directed that CTOs, District Traffic Officers, and DPOs should be present in the field and ensure the implementation of traffic laws.
