IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar Visited Prosecutor General Punjab Office.
Inspector General of Punjab Police Dr. Usman Anwar, accompanied by DIG CCD Waqas-ul-Hassan, visited the Office of the Prosecutor General Punjab. Upon arrival at the Prosecutor General’s Office, IG Punjab was received by Director Admin and Deputy Prosecutor General Muhammad Arshad Ali Farooqi.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar held a meeting with Prosecutor General Punjab, Syed Farhad Ali Shah. During the meeting, both sides agreed to further strengthen the working relationship between Punjab Police and the Prosecution Department in handling legal and judicial matters. IG Punjab said that, in light of the challenges arising from the growing population, both departments are placing special focus on the follow-up of cases. There is direct and effective coordination between the Central Police Office and the Prosecutor General Punjab. IG Punjab added that in the criminal justice system, police, prosecution, and all related entities play equally important and essential roles.
Prosecutor General Punjab Syed Farhad Ali Shah said that excellent coordination exists between District Police Officers (DPOs) and District Public Prosecutors across all districts. IG Punjab remarked that shortcomings causing delays in pending investigations have been addressed through joint efforts. Joint teams comprising police officers and prosecutors are working together on the challans (charge sheets) of under-investigation cases. At the conclusion of the visit, Prosecutor General Punjab Syed Farhad Ali Shah presented IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar with a commemorative souvenir and a set of books.
