Punjab Police takes action against those spreading objectionable content on social media during Muharram-ul-Haram
09 cases have been registered for uploading objectionable and hateful content on social media platforms in the last 24 hours, according to a Punjab Police spokesperson.
Punjab Police is continuing its action against individuals spreading objectionable content on social media during Muharram-ul-Haram. In the last 24 hours, 09 cases have been registered for uploading objectionable and hateful content. The Punjab Police spokesperson stated that 10 violators who shared such content have been arrested. Of these, 08 were arrested for uploading objectionable content on Facebook, while 02 were arrested for making such content viral via WhatsApp.
Two violators were arrested from Sargodha, Sahiwal, and Lodhran, and one each from Bhakkar, Khanewal, Rajanpur, and Layyah.
Inspector General Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, stated that those involved in spreading religious hatred, incitement, and sectarianism on social media do not deserve any leniency. He further added that Punjab Police is ensuring a strict crackdown on such elements involved in spreading hate and objectionable content online.
