In the context of Muharram-ul-Haram and Friday prayer, Punjab Police has been conducting ongoing search, sweep, and combing operations across the province, including Lahore. As part of these efforts, during the past 24 hours, 529 combing operations were carried out, over 18,850 suspected individuals were checked, and 46 suspicious persons were taken into custody. Providing details, the spokesperson of Punjab Police said that 25 search and sweep operations were conducted, over 2,650 individuals were questioned, and 03 suspicious persons were arrested. In addition, 306 proclaimed offenders involved in heinous crimes, 106 court absconders, and 133 habitual criminals were also arrested. The spokesperson further said that a large quantity of illegal weapons and ammunition was recovered from the possession of criminal and suspicious elements. During the operations against criminals, 10 offenders were neutralized, while 06 were arrested in injured condition. IG Punjab emphasized that during Muharram-ul-Haram, search, sweep, and combing operations must continue to hold anti-state and criminal elements accountable.
