Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has directed officers and personnel of Punjab Police to remain alert and actively participate in relief operations during the rains in Lahore and various areas of Punjab. He emphasized that police officers and personnel should perform their duties with enhanced vigilance in the rain-affected areas. Traffic wardens are to play their part in maintaining smooth traffic flow on highways, while supervisory police officers should personally monitor relief activities in the flood-affected areas.
IG Punjab said that Punjab Police remains in constant contact with PDMA, district administrations, and rescue agencies regarding rescue and relief activities. Details of damages caused by the rains are being collected through Punjab Police control rooms. He instructed officers to personally assess rescue and relief operations in the field. IG Punjab added that police officers and personnel are assisting WASA and other departments in water drainage from rain-affected roads in Lahore and other areas. Full cooperation is being extended to relevant agencies in rescuing citizens affected by the rains. Dr. Usman Anwar further said that considering the possibility of further rainfall, police officers and personnel should remain highly alert and respond immediately to any emergency situation.
