LAHORE - Punjab Police’s Tahaffuz Marakaz are playing a vital role in offering protection, care, and assistance to vulnerable and marginalised groups across the province. According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, 33,893 individuals have benefited from the services provided at these centres so far this year. The beneficiaries include 16,483 women, 12,622 children, and 4,788 transgender persons. In Lahore alone, 534 individuals received help at the Tahaffuz Marakaz, comprising 382 women, 132 transgender persons, and 20 children. Currently, 38 Tahaffuz Marakaz are operating across Punjab, including three in the provincial capital. Inspector General of Punjab Police Dr Usman Anwar directed officials to expand outreach programs and ensure prompt support to victims of genderbased violence, exploitation, social insecurity, and abuse.
