In light of the Drug-Free Punjab campaign, Punjab Police’s anti-narcotics operations are continuing across the province. Sharing the details, the spokesperson of Punjab Police said that within the past 24 hours, a total of 231 raids were conducted on drug dealers’ hideouts and 128 drug peddlers were arrested. He further shared that 68 kilograms of cannabis (charas) and 5 kilograms of heroin were recovered from the drug dealers. Additionally, 5 kilograms of crystal meth (ice) and 1,486 liters of liquor were also seized from their possession.
Inspector General of Punjab Police has directed for the swift continuation of special operations against drug dealers and smugglers, stating that all individuals involved in the supply chain must be brought to justice and given strict punishments. He further emphasized that operations against those involved in drug peddling near educational institutions and hostels must be intensified.
