Punjab Police’ intensified the crackdown Against Proclaimed Offenders and Court Absconders Wanted in Heinous Crimes.
Punjab Police’s crackdown against proclaimed offenders and court absconders wanted in heinous crimes is continuing at a fast pace. According to details, more than 65,000 proclaimed offenders have been arrested from across the province including Lahore during the current year. These include 22,948 proclaimed offenders of A category and over 42,000 of B category. Similarly, 26,917 court absconders have also been arrested from across the province, which include 6,005 court absconders of A category and 20,912 of B category. Punjab Police has also arrested 13,848 habitual criminals, among which 5,377 belong to A category while 8,471 are of B category. In the provincial capital Lahore, 13,733 proclaimed offenders, 10,689 court absconders, and 5,345 habitual criminals have been arrested.
Inspector General of Punjab Police Dr. Usman Anwar has appreciated the police teams arresting proclaimed offenders and court absconders. IG Punjab has directed that the crackdown for arresting proclaimed offenders should be further accelerated across the province. He further instructed that through close liaison with complainants and effective information sharing, dangerous criminals should be brought within the grasp of the law. IG Punjab directed that RPOs and DPOs should personally supervise the operations for arresting dangerous proclaimed offenders.
