On the directions of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, weekly general parades were held across the province, including Lahore. Senior police officers inspected the parades, and the parade contingents presented salute. Personnel from Police Lines, Dolphin Force, Anti-Riot Force, Traffic Police, Mujahid Squad, SPU, Lady Police, OCU, Investigation Wing, and Operations Wing of various police stations participated in the general parade. Senior officers also inspected the turnout of the participating officers and personnel.
Smartly dressed and alert contingents performed a march-past during the parade. Female officers also actively participated in the general parade. These parades are being regularly conducted every Monday across the province. District officers carried out inspections of quarter guards, motor transport wings, miscellaneous stores, uniform depots, and other departments.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar stated that the purpose of the general parade is to keep the personnel alert and to promote discipline, unity, and camaraderie among the ranks. He added that the parade is a reflection of the discipline of any force and plays a vital role in maintaining the fitness of officers and personnel. The general parade also symbolizes the history, heritage, and traditions of the police force.
