Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar chaired an important meeting at the Central Police Office.The meeting reviewed the proposals for forming Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) and Snipers teams for national and international competitions. Additional IG Elite Dr. Muhammad Waqar Abbasi, Additional IG Training Tariq Rustam Chauhan, DIG Elite, Commandant Elite Police Training School, AIG Logistics and AIG Procurement along with senior officers were present in the meeting. IG Punjab directed to ensure the representation of Punjab Police in national and international special forces skills and shooting competitions and said that teams comprising the best police commandos and snipers should be formed for the competitions and modern weapons and skills training should be ensured. IG Punjab said that the quality and professionalism of Punjab Police Special Forces is at par with other modern civil armed forces of the world. Equipped with modern training, Punjab Police personnel possess excellent skills in crime fighting, special operations and sniper skills. Punjab Police will also prove its capabilities in international competitions related to civil armed forces.
