Friday, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar directed to increase security across the province.
Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, while directing to increase security across the province including Lahore on the occasion of Friday, said that security of mosques, Imambargahs, shrines and important places should be ensured. He said that religious scholars play an important role in the reform of the society, provision of peace and justice. He directed senior police officers including DPOs to visit regional mosques on the occasion of Friday and police officers to listen to the problems of citizens in mosques after Friday prayers. IG Punjab said that according to the spirit and teachings of Islam, mosques are being made the center of engagement with the community. The need and usefulness of mosques in the reform, construction and development of the society is very important. IG Punjab said that senior officers should listen to the problems of citizens at their doorsteps through mosques and citizens should also be informed about the services and facilities provided by the police.
