According to the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, capacity building of the police force is underway to further improve the law and order situation across the province including Lahore. In this regard, the training of the first batch of 3,000 personnel of the Riot Management Police is being completed rapidly at the Police Training School Farooqabad. DIG Riot Management Police Asad Sarfraz Khan visited the Police Training School Farooqabad and reviewed the training and other matters of the force. On this occasion, Principal Police Training School Farooqabad Tanveer Ahmad, while briefing the DIG RMP about the training, said that a total of 5,000 personnel will be included in the Right Management Police, out of which 3,000 are being trained in the first batch. Punjab Police spokesperson said that DIG RMP Asad Sarfraz encouraged the soldiers who were training hard in the scorching heat and inquired about the problems they were facing. DIG RMP said that keeping in mind the current law and order challenges, department is ensuring training of the force on modern lines. Special drills have been designed to maintain high standards of fitness and performance of the force in the 8-week course. The procurement of special equipment and tools for the riot management police is also in the final stages of completion. DIG RMP Asad Sarfraz appreciated the efforts of the training staff for high-quality training of the force, while the trained personnel expressed their full commitment to maintaining law and order. The teams comprising officers and personnel include mob engagement, mob control, water cannon, tear gas, rubber bullet, stun grenade, long-range sound device, evacuation, arrest, first aid, advance party, drone operation and snipers and canine (dog) handlers teams.
