Elimination of Metallic String and Kite Flying, Punjab Police in Action Across the Province
Punjab Police ensuring zero tolerance against violations of the Anti-Kite Flying Act across the province, including Lahore.
This year, 3815 accused arrested and 3730 cases registered across the province for violating the Anti-Kite Flying Act, Punjab Police Spokesperson said.
On the instructions of Inspector General Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, a crackdown under a zero-tolerance policy is ongoing across the province by Punjab Police for the elimination of metallic string and kite flying. In continuation of this effort, 3815 accused have been arrested and 3730 cases have been registered across the province including Lahore this year for violating the Anti-Kite Flying Act.
Punjab Police Spokesperson said that 456,374 kites, 16,808 spools of string were recovered, and challans for 3414 cases were submitted. In the provincial capital Lahore, 1080 accused were arrested, 1052 cases registered, 26,339 kites and 1295 spools of string were recovered. Last year, 12,525 accused were arrested and 11,866 cases were registered across the province including Lahore.
IG Punjab instructed officers to ensure strict implementation of the Kite Flying Prohibition (Amendment) Bill law. RPOs, CPOs, and DPOs should accelerate the crackdown against kite flyers, kite sellers, and manufacturers. No permission will be given for this deadly activity and a zero-tolerance policy should be adopted against those involved in this bloody business. Those involved in the online business of metallic string and kites should also be brought under the grip of law. Dr. Usman Anwar said that parents should keep their children away from this deadly game and citizens should show responsibility by reporting any instance of kite flying at any location by calling 15.
