IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar: Committed to the best medical treatment for special children of police employees
During the past two years, over 308.4 million rupees disbursed for treatment of special children of police employees posted in various districts.
Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar is committed to providing the best medical treatment for the special children of police employees. In continuation of this commitment, more than 308.4 million rupees have been disbursed over the past two years for the treatment of special children of police employees posted in various districts.
Providing further details, Punjab Police Spokesperson shared that over 71.7 million rupees were disbursed for children's cochlear implant surgeries. A monthly stipend of 10,000 rupees, totaling more than 126.8 million rupees, was provided to 654 children suffering from cerebral palsy. For 161 children affected by thalassemia, a monthly amount of 15,000 rupees was given, with a total of 52.785 million rupees disbursed for medical expenses. For the treatment of 162 children suffering from other hearing impairments, over 10.2 million rupees were allocated. An amount exceeding 36.8 million rupees was disbursed for the treatment of 181 children suffering from various severe illnesses.
Scholarships of over 10 million rupees were awarded to 58 special children currently enrolled in educational institutions. In addition, wheelchairs were provided to 131 physically challenged children of police employees. Dr. Usman Anwar said that comprehensive efforts for the treatment and rehabilitation of special children of police employees are ongoing. He further said that welfare initiatives are being carried out to make the lives of special children of police employees easier and more dignified.
