Punjab Police arrested 17 members of 8 gangs wanted in serious crimes including theft and robbery from Lahore and various districts on Eid-ul-Adha, Punjab Police Spokesperson
Punjab Police remained actively engaged in maintaining peace across the province and protecting citizens during the Eid-ul-Adha holidays. Punjab Police Spokesperson said that on Eid-ul-Adha day, 17 members of 8 gangs wanted in serious crimes including theft and robbery were arrested from Lahore and various districts. Stolen goods worth millions of rupees were recovered from the accused, including 13 motorcycles, mobile phones, livestock, 1 million rupees in cash, a large quantity of weapons and ammunition, and cases were registered. Punjab Police spokesperson added that police arrested 71 proclaimed offenders wanted in serious crimes, 12 judicial fugitives, and 2 habitual offenders with criminal records during the previous day. On Eid-ul-Adha day, police conducted 136 raids on drug dealers’ hideouts, arrested 73 suspects, and registered cases. From the drug dealers, 19 kilograms of charas, 3 kilograms of ice powder, 1 kilogram of heroin, and 2,506 liters of liquor were also recovered. Punjab Police Spokesperson further said that during the Eid-ul-Adha holidays, 12 suspects involved in electricity theft were arrested and cases were registered.
