On the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha (today), Punjab Police will remain on high alert; arrangements as per the security plan have been completed

 

On the directions of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman, Punjab Police has completed its security arrangements for the protection of mosques, Imambargahs, Eid congregations, and citizens across the province on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha. The Punjab Police spokesperson stated that more than 43,000 officers and personnel will be deployed for the security of Eid prayers and congregations at 28,074 mosques and 890 open places throughout the province. A total of 445 Quick Response Force teams will also be deployed as part of the security arrangements. Additionally, 11,912 metal detectors, 225 walk-through gates, and 10,466 CCTV cameras will be utilized during Eid prayers.

 

More than 9,000 personnel and officers will be deployed for the security of over 5,000 Eid prayer gatherings in the provincial capital, Lahore. IG Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, while directing that security be kept on high alert for Eid-ul-Adha, stated that, in view of the current border situation, security must be enhanced throughout the province, including in Lahore. Additional personnel should be deployed to secure parks and recreational places during the Eid holidays. One-wheeling, aerial firing, kite flying, and rioting will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Ensure the implementation of SOPs issued by the Punjab government regarding the collection of sacrificial skins. Monitoring of all banned organizations involved in illegal activities and individuals included in the Fourth Schedule should be made more effective. Complete checking and clearance of all mosques, Imambargahs, and Eidgahs must be ensured before Eid prayers. Snipers should be deployed on the roofs of A-category mosques and Imambargahs, while plainclothes commandos should be present inside Eid congregations.

 

The DIG Traffic should personally monitor the traffic management plan to ensure smooth traffic flow across the province on the occasion of Eid. Effective preventive measures must be taken to avoid street crimes and robberies on highways during Eid. Additional personnel should be stationed at all relevant points to maintain traffic flow on Eid-ul-Adha. All resources should be utilized for the convenience and security of tourists in Murree and other tourist destinations during the Eid-ul-Adha holidays. The SOPs regarding vehicle entry and exit in Murree must be strictly implemented.
