Eid ul-Adha arrives: Punjab Police Committed to Protecting citizens, Traders, and Buyers in Cattle Markets.

 

In view of Eid ul-Adha, Punjab Police is determined to protect citizens, traders, and buyers in cattle markets, In continuation of this effort, Punjab Police is conducting a crackdown against cattle thieves throughout Lahore and the entire province.  Punjab Police spokesperson said that in the last seven days, 59 cattle thieves have been arrested across Lahore and the province, and cases have been registered against them. From the possession of the accused, 168 stolen animals have been recovered and returned to their rightful owners. The recovered animals include 23 cows, 124 goats, and 21 other animals. Security has been deployed at 230 cattle markets across the province, including Lahore, with 4,000 police officers and personnel assigned for this duty. In Lahore alone, 1,000 police officers and personnel are deployed to secure 11 cattle markets. Special police checkpoints have been established around cattle markets throughout Lahore and the province. A total of 284 patrolling teams, including Dolphin Squad and Police Response Units, are actively patrolling the areas around the cattle markets. Full security is being provided to individuals involved in the buying and selling of sacrificial animals. IG Punjab instructed officers deployed at cattle markets to remain alert and continue taking effective action against fraudsters and thieves. No cattle market should be allowed to operate at any location other than those approved by the district administration, and legal action should be taken against unauthorized sale points.
