Central Police Office: Promotion Rank Conferment Ceremony for 32 Officers Promoted from Inspector to DSP

 

Under the direction of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, a ceremony was held at the Central Police Office to confer promotion ranks on 32 officers recently promoted to the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP). IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar personally pinned the DSP ranks on the promoted officers. IG Punjab also congratulated the officers and their families on their promotion. Punjab Police spokesperson said that Punjab Police holds the distinction of being the largest single-command civil force in the world. With promotions to nearly 34 Superintendent of Police (SP) positions, additional vacancies will arise for DSPs, Inspectors, and Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs). Punjab Police spokesperson emphasized that officers should focus on field duties and commit themselves to becoming effective crime fighters to secure their promotions. Punjab Police spokesperson further added that officers who are deferred or superseded will be given opportunities in upcoming promotion boards. Those officers who miss out on promotion are advised to complete their Annual Confidential Reports (ACRs) and ensure their service records are updated and accurate before the next promotion boards convene. The department is strictly implementing the policy that “no officer should be deprived of promotion” and ensures that officers who are not promoted are informed of the reasons behind the decision.

 

Punjab Police spokesperson highlighted that the department stands firm today due to the immortal sacrifices of its martyrs and the courage and bravery of its veterans. Since the introduction of the automated Policing and Service Delivery system, there has been a marked improvement in performance. The ceremony was attended by Additional IG Punjab Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry, Additional IG Humayun Bashir Tarrar, Additional IG CCD Sohail Zafar Chattha, DIG Establishment One Suleman Sultan Rana, DIG Headquarters Dr. Muhammad Abid Khan, DIG Welfare and Finance Ghazi Muhammad Salahuddin, DIG Establishment Two Captain (Retired) Liaqat Ali Malik, DIG CCD Umar Farooq Salamat, along with other AIGs and senior officers.
