Inspector General of Punjab Police Dr. Usman Anwar has taken a notable step for the health and welfare of police personnel. A memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed between Punjab Police and the private welfare organization, Sarwar Shahida Research Institute of Cardiovascular Science Trust, in a ceremony held at the Central Police Office. Vice President of the Trust Mian Asmatullah and Board Member Agha Nabeel were also present at the occasion. The MOU was signed by IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar and Trust President Dr. Shoaib Sarwar. According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, all Regional Police Officers (RPOs) of Punjab Police have been appointed as regional ambassadors of the welfare trust. As per the agreement, annual cardiovascular camps will be organized at the Central Police Office, while quarterly camps will be conducted at regional and district police offices.
These camps will provide cardiovascular screening for police personnel, including free tests for blood pressure, blood sugar, and other heart-related diseases. The welfare organization will offer comprehensive support to police employees diagnosed with cardiovascular diseases. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar expressed his gratitude to the Trust President and his team for their collaboration. He said that this MOU will serve as a significant facility in enhancing the health welfare services available to Punjab Police personnel. Additional IG Welfare and Finance Imran Arshad, DIG Welfare Ghazi Muhammad Salahuddin, AIG Welfare Abdul Rahim Sherazi, and AIG Finance Nida Umar Chattha were also present at the ceremony.
