Provincial Minister for Law Malik Sohaib Ahmad Bharth visited the Central Police Office and attended the ceremony held in honor of the families of police martyrs as the chief guest. Provincial Minister for Law distributed keys of new houses among families of 7 police martyrs. Malik Sohaib Ahmad Bharth also distributed financial assistance cheques among the families of 11 police martyrs who embraced martyrdom before 2017 for the construction of houses. The Provincial Minister also handed over foreign scholarship cheques worth Rs. 3.5 million to two brilliant children of police martyrs for higher education in the United Kingdom.
Inspector General Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar briefed the Provincial Minister about the welfare initiatives being undertaken for the families and children of police martyrs. According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, the families and children of police martyrs are being provided plots, shelter, medical treatment, and quality higher education facilities. Provincial Minister for Law said that the police martyrs, who took bullets on their chests for the protection of citizens, are extremely close to the heart of Chief Minister Punjab. On the special instructions of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, historic measures are being taken for the families of police martyrs. As per the directions of the Chief Minister, Package III for police martyrs is being further improved. Even the most precious things in the world cannot compensate for the sacrifices of the martyrs. Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz and all provincial ministers pay tribute to the eternal sacrifices of police martyrs.
Provincial Minister for Law also paid tribute to the Inspector General Punjab and his team for the unparalleled welfare efforts for the police force, martyrs, and their families. Provincial Minister further said that today’s Punjab is safer and more crime-free due to the great sacrifices of 1,683 police martyrs and 2,163 Ghazis. Provincial Minister issued directions to expedite the process of house purchases for the families of martyrs. Inspector General Punjab said that due to the leadership of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz and the support of the Law Minister, visible improvements have been made in the Shuhada Package. Provincial Minister for Law said that under the Shuhada Package, a significant increase of Rs. 5.4 million per head has been made for the purchase of houses. Punjab Police spokesperson said that children of martyrs are being provided free education in Pakistan’s top educational institutions, foreign scholarships, and laptops. Families of 712 police martyrs who embraced martyrdom before 2017 have been provided with plots. For the construction of houses on these plots, eligible families of martyrs are also being given Rs. 2.5 million per head.
Provincial Minister for Law inspected various sections of the Central Police Office including the Shuhada Wall, Ghazi Wall, and Police Museum. Additional IG Welfare and Finance Imran Arshad, DIG Welfare Ghazi Muhammad Salahuddin, AIG Welfare Abdul Rahim Sherazi, and other officers were also present on the occasion.
