Performance Report for May 2025 Released; 3.8 Million People Checked via E-Police Post App on Highways; 424 Wanted Criminals and Court Fugitives Arrested.
Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) remains actively engaged throughout the province in serving and protecting citizens on highways and ensuring compliance with laws. In continuation of these efforts, PHP has released its performance report for May 2025. Punjab Police Spokesperson shared details stating that in May, PHP checked 3.8 million individuals on highways using the E-Police Post app. During these checks, 424 wanted criminals and court fugitives were arrested. A total of 1.7 million vehicles were inspected on highways across Punjab, with 263 stolen cars and motorcycles recovered. Legal action was taken against 44,927 overloaded vehicles violating axle load limits. Furthermore, action was taken against 1,516 vehicles involved in the illegal use of gas cylinders.
For the convenience of citizens, 24,010 driving licenses were issued. Forty missing children were reunited with their parents, and 6,806 temporary and permanent encroachments were removed to improve traffic flow.
A total of 10,624 passengers received various kinds of assistance and guidance on highways, while 16,648 citizens were provided different policing services at police service centers. Fifty-six cases were registered for illegal arms usage. From suspects, 3 Kalashnikov rifles, 6 rifles, 47 pistols, and hundreds of bullets were recovered. From drug dealers, PHP seized 1,305 liters of liquor, 2,325 grams of charas, 250 grams of ice (crystal meth), 3,500 grams of cannabis resin, and 40 grams of heroin.
Inspector General Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar praised PHP for their outstanding performance. Dr. Usman Anwar directed police officers to perform their duties with full dedication and sincerity to ensure smooth traffic flow and the service and protection of citizens.
