Over Rs. 103.49 Crore Spent on Police Force Welfare During Current Year, Punjab Police Spokesperson
Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has continued efforts for the welfare of the police force and their families. In this ongoing initiative, more than Rs. 103.49 crore have been spent on police welfare during the current year. Punjab Police Spokesperson, while sharing the details, shared that over Rs. 29.27 crore have been disbursed as educational scholarships to children of police employees. Rs. 31.76 crore were provided as wedding gifts to daughters of police personnel. For medical treatment assistance, over Rs. 14.74 crore have been allocated.
In the category of subsistence allowance, funds exceeding Rs. 11.66 crore were given to families of police employees. More than Rs. 12.42 crore were disbursed as retirement grants to police employees. Funeral expenses of Rs. 2.85 crore were paid to the families of the force. Immediate financial assistance amounting to over Rs. 77.19 lakh was also provided to the police force. Dr. Usman Anwar said that the Police Welfare Fund and income generated from welfare sources are being used to resolve the difficulties faced by employees and their families.
