Security duties of 230 cattle markets across the province being performed by 4,000 officers and personnel, Punjab Police Spokesperson
On the instructions of Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, officers and personnel of Punjab Police are performing security duties on high alert for buyers and traders in cattle markets. Punjab Police Spokesperson shared that 4,000 officers and personnel have been deployed for the security of 230 cattle markets across the province, including Lahore. In Lahore, 1,000 police officers and personnel are deployed for the security of 11 cattle markets. Comprehensive measures have been taken to ensure the security of traders and citizen buyers in the cattle markets. While giving directions to officers, the Inspector General Punjab said that no cattle market will be allowed at any location other than the points approved by the district administration, and legal action should be taken against illegal cattle markets and sale points. To counter fraudsters, pickpockets, and criminals, implementation of an effective patrolling plan should be ensured. Patrolling is being carried out by 284 patrolling teams, including Dolphin Squad and Police Response Unit, around the cattle markets.
Punjab Police Spokesperson further shared that in Sheikhupura Region, 200 officers and personnel have been deployed for the security of 26 cattle markets. In Gujranwala Region, 600 officers and personnel are deployed for the security of 41 cattle markets. In Rawalpindi Region, more than 250 officers and personnel are deployed for the security of 15 cattle markets. In Sargodha Region, 200 officers and personnel are deployed for the security of 24 cattle markets. In Faisalabad, more than 600 officers and personnel are deployed for the security of 19 cattle markets. In Multan, more than 400 officers and personnel are deployed for the security of 26 cattle markets. In Sahiwal, more than 200 officers and personnel are deployed for the security of 11 cattle markets. In Bahawalpur, more than 300 officers and personnel are deployed for the security of 35 cattle markets, and in D.G. Khan, more than 200 officers and personnel are deployed for the security of 22 cattle markets.
