IG Punjab Reviewed Progress on Ongoing Schemes under Annual Development Program.

An important meeting was held at Central Police Office under the chairmanship of Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar to review the progress on ongoing schemes under the Annual Development Program. IG Punjab also reviewed the progress regarding the targets set by the Chief Minister Punjab for traffic management.  IG Punjab emphasized that a defeated enemy might attempt to sabotage peace on Eid-ul-Azha, therefore the police should remain on high alert. Personnel deployed at border and riverine checkpoints, as well as at entry and exit routes, should stay vigilant. Checking of suspicious persons and vehicles must be intensified. IG Punjab also ordered an increase in security arrangements at cattle markets.
During Eid-ul-Azha, no banned or unregistered organizations should be allowed to collect hides or donations. Effective measures must be taken to ensure law and order and security during Eid-ul-Azha. Surety bonds should be obtained from parties involved in old enmity cases. Elite and QRF teams should be deployed at sensitive locations. RPOs, CPOs, and DPOs should play a supervisory role in improving traffic matters.
IG Punjab directed all officers to immediately submit relevant details under the ‘Key Performance Indicators’. IG Punjab further directed that monitoring through CCTV cameras, search, sweep, and combing operations should continue. Data of proclaimed offenders should be verified using gadgets such as Smart Eye, Hotel Eye, Travel Eye, and database-based e-police posts.  The meeting was attended by DIG Training, DIG IT, AIG Logistics and Development, AIG Welfare, AIG Finance, AIG Operations, AIG Admin, and SP Legal, while Additional IG South Punjab, Additional IG CTD, DIG Special Branch, MD Safe Cities, all RPOs, CPOs, DPOs, and heads of various formations participated via video link.
