Crowds of Buyers in Cattle Markets Across the Province, Punjab Police on High Alert.
4,000 Officers Deployed for Security in 230 Cattle Markets Across Punjab, Punjab Police Spokesperson
On the instructions of Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, Punjab Police is performing high-alert security duties in cattle markets across the province. Punjab Police Spokesperson, while providing details, shared that security duties in 230 cattle markets across the province including Lahore are being performed by 4,000 officers and personnel. In Lahore alone, 1,000 police officers and personnel have been deployed for the security of 11 cattle markets.
IG Punjab said that comprehensive measures have been taken for the security of traders and buyers at cattle markets. No cattle market is allowed to be established at any location other than the points approved by the district administration. Legal action shall be taken against illegal cattle markets and sale points. An effective patrolling plan has been developed to suppress fraudsters, pickpockets, and criminals. A total of 284 patrolling teams, including Dolphin Squad and Police Response Unit, are conducting effective patrolling around cattle markets.
Punjab Police Spokesperson further shared that in Sheikhupura Region, 200 officers and personnel have been deployed for the security of 26 cattle markets. In Gujranwala Region, 600 officers and personnel have been deployed for 41 cattle markets. In Rawalpindi Region, more than 250 officers and personnel are deployed for the security of 15 cattle markets. In Sargodha Region, 200 officers and personnel are deployed for 24 cattle markets. In Faisalabad, more than 600 officers and personnel have been deployed for 19 cattle markets. In Multan, over 400 officers and personnel are deployed for 26 cattle markets. In Sahiwal, more than 200 officers and personnel are deployed for 11 cattle markets. In Bahawalpur, more than 300 officers and personnel are deployed for 35 cattle markets, and in Dera Ghazi Khan, over 200 officers and personnel have been deployed for the security of 22 cattle markets.
