In light of the current security situation, Punjab Police is carrying out intelligence-based search, sweep, and combing operations across the province, including Lahore. As part of this ongoing campaign, a total of 58,681 combing operations have been conducted so far this year across Punjab. Punjab Police Spokesperson shared that more than 1.972 million suspicious individuals were checked, and 9,612 suspects were taken into custody. Among those arrested were 51,268 proclaimed offenders involved in heinous crimes, 21,424 court absconders, and 12,507 habitual criminals. From the possession of criminal elements, 209 rifles, 1,499 pistols, 168 shotguns, and hundreds of rounds of ammunition were recovered. During the operations against criminal elements, 278 criminals were brought to justice, 404 were injured, and 375 were arrested. In encounters with criminals, 10 police personnel were martyred while 56 sustained injuries. IG Punjab directed officers to accelerate operations against dangerous criminals involved in heinous crimes. To suppress terrorists and criminal elements, Punjab Police is also continuing its mock exercises. These exercises involve teams from Punjab Police, CTD, Special Branch, Elite Force, Rescue 1122, and other law enforcement agencies.
