Punjab Police's crackdown against dangerous habitual and proclaimed offenders continues

On the instructions of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, Punjab Police's crackdown against dangerous habitual and proclaimed offenders is ongoing. In continuation of this, Punjab Police arrested 388 proclaimed offenders wanted in serious crimes across the province, including Lahore, within 24 hours. The spokesperson of Punjab Police, while sharing the details, said that among the arrested proclaimed offenders, 172 belong to Category A and 216 to Category B. Punjab Police also arrested 157 court absconders. Among these, 63 are from Category A and 94 from Category B. The spokesperson further said that during the operations, 64 target offenders (habitual criminals) were also arrested, including 25 from Category A and 39 from Category B. From the possession of the proclaimed offenders, 4 Kalashnikovs, 5 rifles, 68 pistols, 10 shotguns, and other weapons were recovered. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar appreciated the police teams on successful operations and ordered the crackdown to be further intensified. IG Punjab directed officers to ensure effective investigations, complete cases swiftly, and secure exemplary punishments for the offenders. RPOs and DPOs should personally supervise the crackdown and targeted operations against dangerous criminals.
