A Pakistani woman police officer has earned an outstanding honor by winning an international award at the World Police Summit. ASP Anam Sher Khan was awarded the first position in the Excellence in Criminal Investigation Award 2025 category for her exceptional performance in criminal investigation. Punjab Police spokesperson shared that the Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police presented the international award to ASP Anam Sher Khan at a ceremony held at the Dubai World Trade Centre. For the World Police Summit Awards, extraordinary performances of police officers from 192 countries in various categories were considered. Anam Sher Khan was honored for successfully solving two important cases in Punjab. In the first case, she investigated the brutal murder of 12-year-old domestic worker Ayesha Bibi. Under her supervision, Sargodha Police arrested the suspects within 72 hours. In the second case, she ensured the arrest of the individuals involved in the murder of a young man named Mohsin within 24 hours. Anam Sher Khan has already received commendation certificates and awards from Punjab Police. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar congratulated and commended ASP Anam Sher Khan for bringing honor to Pakistan and Punjab Police on a global level. IG Punjab said that the selection of Punjab Police officers for international awards is a matter of pride for Pakistan Police Service. Talented officers like ASP Anam Sher Khan will play an important role in future police leadership. Punjab Police spokesperson further shared that the World Police Summit is the largest, most effective, and professional organization for police leadership globally. Each year, police officers with developmental and leadership contributions in their respective fields are selected from all over the world. After strict scrutiny and interviews, the Awards Committee shortlisted two officers from Punjab Police as award winners. The World Police Summit adheres to the vision of aligning the safety of various communities worldwide with modern standards. The Spokesperson further shared that DPO Kasur Muhammad Essa Khan was declared runner-up for the Best Artificial Intelligence Implementation in Policing Award category for his outstanding performance in the use of artificial intelligence in policing.
