1,447 raids conducted across Punjab in one week; 907 drug dealers arrested: Punjab Police Spokesperson
On the directions of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, 1,447 raids were conducted across the province, including Lahore, over the past week as part of the ‘Drug-Free Punjab’ vision. As a result, 907 drug dealers were arrested and cases were registered. According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, a total of 373 kilograms of charas, 30 kilograms of ice, 9,695 liters of liquor, 34 kilograms of heroin, and various other narcotics were recovered from the possession of the arrested suspects. IGP Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has instructed the continuation of special operations against drug dealers and smugglers. He directed officers to ensure the dismantling of drug supply chains and the arrest of individuals involved in the online sale and purchase of narcotics. Intelligence-based operations around educational institutions and hostels should be further intensified, he added.
